Jenny Answers Viewer Emails - Ep 36 - Made Fit TV

February 17th, 2009 | | Email This Post Email This Post |

Every week I get many emails that consist of questions and concerns regarding health, fitness, and nutrition.  Being a personal trainer in the Detroit-Metro area, I reach many clients one-on-one.  But through www.MadeFitTV.com, I am able to reach all of you - and I love that!

In this week’s Made Fit TV podcast, I explore the critical topic of bad eating habits, in children in particular.  I also explain how you can better your eating with simple life style changes.

Also, ever wondered what weights to start with when beginning a weight-training program?  I’ll teach you how to find out what weight works best for you and your goals.

That was a great. I do agree with you . I find it very sad when I see a young childern extremely overweight. I try very hard to stick to a good routine when it comes to nuturion. But it alway seems that their is someone trying to throw a wrench into it. At work for me they like to order the pizza, Wendys, . Tim Hortons You name it. If its on the menu they will order it. If you say anything you have committed the ultimate sin.

    Keep up your awesome work
    cheers from canada

Thanks for another great episode Jen! I agree with you that Jasmine should learn out healthy foods, and go with her mom to the grocery store. A lot of food advertising is geared towards kids, and having been kids ourselves we know what power they have over parents in making decisions on what types of foods to buy. Hopefully Jasmine will help her parents make healthier choices and possibly make her whole family healthier in the long run! Also- forget about that guy who said you have "unlady-like arms", he's just totally jealous! ;)
  • Thx for watching and for commenting, Robyn! I guess sometimes the adults in America need to maybe start listening to the youth for health & fitness advice. With over 60% of our population either over-weight or obese, that's not setting a very good example for the youngsters!
  • I agree. It's completely up to the parents to make sure their children eat right. Good eating habits are easier to retain if you learn them young.

Unfortunately, many parents never teach them correctly, allow poor eating habits and then it's too late. It's nothing but an uphill battle for the rest of their lives.

One other thing, the cost of healthy food is nothing compared to the medical bills you're going to get due to obesity related diseases and complications! Be smart people, and think about the quality of your future life!
