Jenny’s 2009 NPC Novice Figure Competition - Made Fit TV - Ep 42

March 29th, 2009 | | Email This Post Email This Post |

The day has finally come!  After twelve weeks of clean eating, carb cycles, outrageous cardio, heavy lifting, mood swings, and a dozen coats of protan… I made it to the 2009 NPC Novice Michigan Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure & Bikini Championships! I know that I typically post a new show on Wednesday mornings, but I wanted to get this one out as soon as possible.

The competition was fierce.  I was up against so many gorgeous women!  The prep for this sport is a very taxing and unique one, so I couldn’t have done it without the encouragement of you, my fans!  I also could not have done it without the help and guidance of my talented friend, a successful personal trainer and figure competitor, who coached me along the way, Magda Sadowski.  She kicked my butt!  Another special thanks to Rick Romeo.  He put on a great show at the Redford Theater in Detroit, MI, where the show was held, and made my experience competing in it a great one!

  • I know it's been 2 years now, but I'm relatively new to Made Fit TV so I'm just going back watching old episodes now. Of course, the whole video was amazing...I can't believe how great you look! But I must comment, the part I enjoyed the most is the end with your McDonalds!! It's comforting to know that you (as most people) also enjoy those fast food meals, but obviously you have just learned to limit your splurges to what....once or twice a year or so? I get cravings for sweets ALL the time, and I just need to learn to fight back and say no! You looked so exhausted and happy and just relieved! Super cute! And nice work with the hard core training!
  • Allison, thanks! I definitely retired from all of that, though, because it can be such a slippery slope! All about balance, I believe. Even if you did eat a little bit of sweets everyday, as long as you are healthy, and are happy with how you look, then there is nothing wrong with it : )

    WOW looking fantastic!!

For one Congrats I know how it is to deplete your body from carbs and the diet. I have my first Figure show in 16 days and prob shouldn't be up right now lol ... but I have a couple of questions about the Hair do you have to wax all your hair off your body and how were your last two weeks of nutrition right now I'm eating like 1/3 cup of oats in the morning with 8 egg whites and all my other meals are just 5 oz of lean meat w/ 1 cup of veggie ... besides my carb up days. But also what did you use for your tan? and where do you get bikini bite from? Thank you
  • For diet, you definitely want to follow what your show coach or mentor is having you do. If not, just do what you are doing because you don't want to mess with anything now with just 16 weeks to go. You can shake, wax, whatever... just gotta get rid of ALL the hair - even on the arms ; ) As for tan, you can use Jan Tana, Pro-Tan, Dream Tan, and Bikini bite or elmers glue. You can get the tan stuff and bikini bite online. As for the suit, that one was made by a friend 5 years ago. I get all of my suits professionally made by an AMAZING competitor! Here is her site- http://www.musclebling.com

one more thing lol I really need your upper body ... I have/had a shoulder injury that I've been working around for this competition that I'm actually lacking a lot in that area and your Rhomboids are wonderful gosh I'm freaking and your suit is gorgeous who made it for you? sorry i have so many questions I just feel so lost sometimes well thank you for everything
  • You're so sweet : ) I have been lifting for about 10 years, and my genetics have graced me with rounder muscle structure. After this show, take a good 6 months off, focus on putting on mass, and then start your pre-comp diet. You can't make substantial gains while depleting and cutting.

I'm glad I'm not alone. "Tiny but Mighty" :]
  • LOL, that's for sure! How is your training - any shows soon?
  • RylieBear
Are heels required for posing? Or is that just to help posture? Amazing back, btw! You could fly with thos wings :D
  • Thank you : ) Yes, the heels are a requirement, unfortunately! But when you are out there and on top of your game, your body just "knows" how to function wearing them, lol! There is no time to freak out!
  • medicrepko
so, i'm curious, a week before the show you hardly drink water? What do you eat excatly? Just chicken? I'm curious because I want to compete my first show next year....
  • Jerry
    congrat!!!!!!

I do have one question. How did you get to that point? You do not look like that on any other videos that I have seen. Were you fasting while working out? How much bodyfat would you say you have for that competition?
  • Thank you, Jerry. Like bodybuilding, figure is the same concept: months of special diets and training. The reason I look so different is not because I fasted ( because that would be the opposite thing to do for this sport), I just manipulated my water and sodium (which is not very healthy on a normal basis) for my one day of the competition. That allows the skin to be tighter to the muscle, and to show definition on stage. Also, I had many coats of tanner on, which also make the muscles pop under the lights on stage : ) Lot's of work for 5 minutes on stage! LOL!

Awesome Job Jenny! I am so proud of you! I would much rather train for a marathon or triathlon than go thru all that training and dieting you have to do for a show like that. Nice job!
