Find the Right Training Program for YOU! Made Fit TV - Ep 104

July 14th, 2010 | | Email This Post Email This Post |

No two people are alike.  So then why do we try to mimic the same workout as a super model in a magazine, the seasoned bodybuilder, or that fit friend of yours who hits the track every morning for a 7 mile run? We’re all unique based on many factors, so we need to look at our workouts in the same way.

Trying to find out what workout program is best for you can be overwhelming and discouraging.  In this week’s Made Fit TV podcast, I show you a different way to approach this common dilemma and how you can turn your quest for a perfect workout into a fun journey of self-discovery!  Watch the video and check out the simple steps below on how to get yourself started.

How to find the right training program that is best for you…

Step 1: If you’ve been doing the same type of workouts or program for more than 3 months and have not seen any measurable or physical results, STOP what you are doing!

Step 2: Figure out EXACTLY what results you are aiming for, and be SPECIFIC!

Step 3: Decide what methods make the challenge more fun for you and keep you interested

Step 4: Make your workout program work by matching the type of method that keeps you interested with the type of specific results you are looking for

Love this video! I've been running competitively for years and years now, and I finally burned myself out. I've been complaining for forever that I wanted a more muscular body, so I'm focusing on a combination if interval cardio and strength work. Loving it so far!

Talking about enjoying our workouts, I have recently started taking yoga class. what's the benefit I can get out if it besides flexibility?
  • Love yoga! Along with flexibility, yoga will improve strength in muscles, bones, and ligaments, and can help control your blood pressure and stress levels with the deep and relaxing breathing. Good for endurance, too! All around great for you, so keep at it : )

    Excellent post!

You made some fabulous points about tracking and measuring one's exercise progress. A point that is often overlooked but essential in regards to knowing if your workout regime is working.

Thanks for all the great information and keep up the good work!
