It’s never too late to stop, reevaluate, and reestablish your goals with anything in life.  But, let’s face it, that can be an extremely overwhelming and daunting task!  Well, I wanted to get the ball rolling for you with my five-part series on “How to Find the Right Goals for YOU!”

My goal is to get you to move past the negativity and focus on what works right for you - and only you.  In this week’s Made Fit TV episode, I provide you with the final step. I talk about how to hold yourself accountable to yourself and your goals with positivity and purpose.

A few years ago, my husband and I lost about 45 pounds each by changing our attitudes about food, fitness, and exercise, and through goal setting. Because of our new lifestyle, I only gained 21 pounds with my first pregnancy and am now only 2 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight after just 3 weeks of giving birth. I strongly encourage your viewers to make goal setting a top priority. What worked best for me was writing down the goals on a daily and weekly basis and refining them as needed. My new goal is to get back to my pre-pregnancy shape, with emphasis on ab/core work and building my endurance. Thank you for using your life to help others. You are an inspiration, and I am grateful to have found your podcast.

    Hi Jennifer
What i've learned and surprised me is the body type. The Ectomorph, Mesomorph, Endomorph. I Have to change my fitness program. I'm a ectomorph. Thanks

The over-arching theme seemed to be that we must come to grips with the body we have. Once we do that, we can make our body the best we can with whatever benefits or limitations we may have. This is what I learned in regards to fitness goals.
    Thanks,
    Danik
Thanks for all the great work.

    Hi Jenny,

Well, I thought my goal was to get to the gym as often as I can. But, instead especially after you're information of ectomorphs, mesomorphs and endormophs I changed my goal to including high intensity workouts (I'm an endormorph). So, I am trying to do burst of 1 min runs on the treadmills during my 30 minutes walk/run or tabata workouts. Tara

  • That was indeed a great series Jenny so firstly thanks for that :)
The key thing I took out from this series is to understand your body better. As you rightly said we all need to understand that we are not perfect and that is what makes us unique too. Acceptability I guess is the first challenge before deciding on the right goal. So if I want to look like Brad Pitt and that is what my goal is then I am definitely not accepting the basic fact about myself and hence am on the wrong track to start of with already. I am definitely a mesomorph so I guess I should at first stop cursing myself and the way I look because it is definitely a good body type that many athletes endorse. Hence, my focus will be on strength training combined with good cardio. Something in lines of tabata which inculcates fast sprints at timed intervals will be perfect for my body type. This will keep my metabolism high and when combined with good strength training I cannot even imagine how my body will look like in a few months time. Focus will also be on nutrition without which all training programmes will be futile. A good, clean and balanced diet should do the trick.

I have so many goals that I want to achieve that I keep on making every year but I figured out that my #1 goal is to FOCUS on MYSELF and my HEALTH. I tend to lose focus easily and I give up but I am taking those little baby steps to changing those bad habits into good ones and it looks like it's starting to work.

My goal is to be more consious of my body and change workouts up regularly, I have lost 52 lbs since May. I started off gang busters and lost 40 lbs in 3 months, then my body said whoa and I lost 5 lbs in 8 weeks. Over the last 2 weeks I lost another 5 lbs or so for a total of 52 lbs. So my main goal is #5 GET UP AND DO IT!!

  • Once again, the 5 series are great! It's definitely useful to know your body-type and what to do, among other things. You are such an inspiration - hope you do well at nationals!

    Hi Jenny,
I work as a Group Fitness Instructor in and around my home area. I have been to loads of workshops and courses and through all this I have seen countless fitness professionals who are either not very inspired or inspiring. Their own bodies have become a nonpriority or are back burnered. I see the value of crosstraining especially when teaching multiple same or simular classes. My goal is to look after myself that I may be better able to take care of my clients.
